About the Role:
Catalano Oral Surgery & Implantology is excited to have an oral surgery assistant position available now at our brand new shiny office in the Parkridge Medical Building! As Dr. Catalano's oral surgery assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional, loving patient care. We are seeking a humble team player who is passionate about patient care and eager to support our skilled surgeon who treats each patient as his own family. Our small, fun and friendly "office family" is searching for the perfect fit to our team! This role requires a high level of professional appearance and demeanor! If you have recently graduated from a dental assisting program and are eager to learn oral surgery assisting, we will consider training the right candidate!
Responsibilities:
- Assist Dr. Catalano during surgical procedures ( His primary focus is in-office IV 4/3rds, extractions, bone grafting, implants and lesions.)
- Prepare and maintain surgical trays, instruments and anesthesia equipment for surgeries. (training available for recent dental assistant school candidates)
- Manage patient's paper records and ensure accurate documentation of procedures and anesthesia logs
- Provide pre-operative and post-operative patient care and education
- Monitor patients’ vital signs and comfort levels before, during and after procedures
- Discharge patients after recovery and turn rooms
- Assist with surgical supply inventory including dental implant management and ordering of supplies.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area complying with OSHA & HIPAA to promote safety and efficiency.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; dental assisting certification preferred.
- Minimum of 1 year experience in oral surgery or dental assisting preferred, but not required
- Knowledge of dental terminology and surgical procedures preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact with patients.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment.
- Current CPR certification and knowledge of infection control protocols.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
- Willing to cross train and help with front desk admin tasks when needed
- Positive, humble attitude and a commitment to providing excellent patient care.

Compensation: $21.00 - $33.00 per hour
